This information manual describes the testing procedures available for a variety of endocrine diseases including pregnancy testing and therapeutic drug monitoring. The majority of the tests refer to canine, feline and equine but the assay systms are very flexible and able to include most species.

  Sample Collection Procedure

Special sample preparation is not required for most of the tests but please refer to the request forms, information sheets or the table listed on page * of this booklet for specific details. Canine Pregnancy, Equine PMSG, ACTH and PTH require special samples.

Samples must be packed according to the Post Office Regulations for Dispatch of Pathological Specimens (a copy is available if required). Labels/postage paid labels are available free of charge on request.

  Results

Sample results are reported by first class post. Faxed results are available if required. Sample testing schedule is available on request.

  Urgent Results

Urgent results can be obtained by telephoning the laboratory 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. An answer machine will be in operation out of hours for any messages. If requested on the assay request form, results will be faxed or telephoned.
